Serial number conventions

All serial numbers in this site are handled as numbers only. P* or any other markings preceding or following the serial number must be omitted.

Some engines have a serial number beginning with "0" (zero). In order to make the database results function correctly, you must add a "5" in front of such serial numbers. For example, if you are searching for engine P*085002, you would enter it as 5085002. Likewise, if you are submitting your information to the database, you must supply the engine serial number with a 5 in front of the zero.

Adding a 5 does not affect any other serial numbers - with the exception of a very small series of 1300S engines (serial numbers 50001 - 50999), no other Porsche engines in this database begin with 5.
